Marcel Häfliger is 43 years old and suffering from severe burnout. The IT team leader is signed off sick and admitted to a clinic where he can begin to recover. Thankfully, Mr. Häfliger’s employer has Generali insurance, allowing him to benefit from our claims management services. He meets his personal point of contact right away, in the hospital. The point of contact evaluates his medical, social and economic situation, gathers reports and talks to the doctors in charge. Above all, however, they talk to the patient, answer his questions and present tried and tested solutions to his issues.
Together, they come up with a plan for his professional integration back into the workplace. After a while, Marcel Häfliger is able to begin working in a small workshop. For three months, he provides support and advice as an IT support specialist. During this crucial trial phase, Marcel Häfliger realises that he is feeling well again and would like to return to his original place of work. Since then, things have been steadily improving, and Marcel Häfliger is once again working as an IT team leader. He says that his quick, successful recovery is largely thanks to his personal point of contact at Generali.
As an experienced insurance company, we have access to the best specialists. We are able to rely on an extensive network of experienced experts and case managers. Your employees benefit from competent assistance and neutral advice, which increases their chance of successful rehabilitation, meaning that we are able to provide you with particularly efficient and effective support.
We support your employee through five stages of professional integration.
1st stage: notification and preparation
You notify us that your employee is absent – whether due to an accident or illness, or because they are about to enter a long period of illness or disability. Once we have received this notification, we will get permission from the insured person to request the reports we need from their doctors.
2nd stage: analysis, early recognition and triage
An expert will look after the file and evaluate the situation. To do so, they will stay in close contact with all parties. This ensures that they can recognise the signs of a potential prolonged absence early, allowing effective measures to be put into place in good time.
3rd stage: evaluation, advice, assessment and expert opinion
We visit the insured person, evaluate their situation, provide advice, carry out an assessment and find out what they need. If anything is unclear, we also ask for expert and second opinions.
4th stage: coordination, outsourcing and support
A case manager has a variety of intervention options that they can make use of depending on the case.
5th stage – performance monitoring and conclusion
We support the insured person as they return to work, for as long as they need it.
