Getting started after finishing your studies

Reschad Ebert works as a strategic development trainee in Adliswil. We asked him how he likes it there.

"The management culture at Generali focuses on what jobs are about rather than on hierarchies. That has an impact on the staff, who are aware that they are doing good and valuable work. I very much value this collegial environment."

What were the reasons behind your decision to join the Generali training programme?

"Generali's training programme takes training and mentoring very seriously. And the post in Strategic Development & Market Monitoring was a very good fit with the business management and analytical skills in my training profile. I think it's a very good idea that a trainee should be prepared for a particular future position from their very first day, since the trainee's particular strengths can be deliberately built on."

What do you do at Generali?

"My tasks in Strategic Development & Market Monitoring are very varied and demanding, since my department has to keep an eye on developments within the company itself and also, of course, on the market.

For example, I was able to play a supporting role in the regular process of reporting on strategic projects, drawing up analyses of the market environment and joining in a company-wide development strategy project, the last of which was particularly exciting and made a great impression on me."

What do you like the most about (your work at) Generali?

"My mentor supports me in my personal development by letting me benefit from his impressive knowledge and great experience. I also have the chance to work with people from higher management levels on a regular basis. When I do, I'm constantly impressed by the way trainees here are treated as equals."

What do you do in your spare time?

"I love being in the mountains. Thanks to the sensible working hours at Generali, I can pursue my hobby and practice climbing and mountain running every week."

What tip would you give future trainees? "Accept Generali's four fundamental values and make them your own. That way, you can become part of this positive corporate culture."
