Pro bono: legal advice at a family centre

Dec 18, 2023.

Legal protection insurance provides security, support and knowledge. It is therefore becoming increasingly important for many, according to the latest Generali survey. But not everyone has easy access to legal advice. To mark its anniversary, Fortuna Legal Protection Insurance therefore launched a pilot project to provide free legal advice at a family centre.

Legal protection insurance provides the answers

Legal questions arise in all areas of everyday life: what can I do if I’ve lost my job without being given a reason? Do I have to pay to rectify defects in my home? Legal protection insurance often provides the answers and is becoming increasingly important for the Swiss population, according to the latest survey by Generali Switzerland. So it is not surprising that our non-binding legal advice service by phone, in particular, is heavily utilised.

Free legal advice at a family centre

Fortuna Legal Protection Insurance took advantage of its anniversary to give vulnerable families easy access to justice. Together with its foundation, The Human Safety Net Switzerland, it launched a pilot project to provide free – so-called pro bono – legal advice at a family centre. Advice was provided by lawyers who volunteered to undertake this work. The service was well received by both the family centre and families seeking advice. So it plans to continue providing this service in 2024.
